Shiatsu
is a form of bodywork from Japan. The word means 'finger pressure'.
Shiatsu uses finger and hand pressure combined with gentle manipulative
techniques to adjust the body and maintain good health.
Shiatsu is
very gentle and relaxing. Because it is an Asian health practice, there
is a focus on assisting in balancing the client's energy. Traditionally
Shiatsu is performed on mats on the floor but it is also effective to
work on a massage table. The average session is 1 hour to 90 minutes
long. The client wears loose, comfortable clothing. No oils are used.
